As a member of the healthcare consulting practice, my primary focus is providing operational performance solutions in the acute healthcare space. I specialize in improving care delivery and efficiency in places where patients are at their most vulnerable, such as hospital emergency rooms and operating rooms.
I joined Plante Moran in 2017 after many years of working in a hospital environment as a quality and process improvement leader. I have on-the-ground familiarity with tackling the challenges hospitals and health systems face, such as complying with a world of increased government regulations while dealing with declining reimbursement rates — all as they strive to provide a safe and satisfying patient experience.
I enjoy working with all levels of the organization, from the housekeeping staff, nurses and physicians, to the CEO. I’m known for my data-driven, decision-making, and an ability to facilitate teams of people through difficult issues to successful project completion. Clients respect my ability to take complex workflow challenges and distill them into bite-sized action items.
I’ve spoken to various associations on process improvement in health care, specifically around the two front doors of any hospital: the emergency department and the surgical suite. I have a bachelor’s degree from Northern Michigan University in biology/chemistry/human physiology and an M.B.A. candidate at Walsh College of Business. I’m a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality, a GE Certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, and a GE Certified Master Change Agent. As a supporter of the community, I’m also active with HAVEN of Oakland County, Cass Community Social Services in Detroit, and the Redford Brightmoor Initiative.
