Headshot of Chris Walski

I’ve taken up scuba diving, and my most recent dive was down in Cabo San Lucas where we were able to see some amazing fish and other sea life. I’m still waiting to see my first shark while diving though.

Experience

As the leader of Plante Moran’s acute healthcare reimbursement services group, I serve a wide range of healthcare entities to ensure they optimize their reimbursement structure and receive all they’re entitled to under Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payor reimbursement. I specialize in acute care healthcare reimbursement services, including services for stand-alone hospitals and health facilities up through large, complex healthcare systems.

I was attracted to healthcare consulting after seeing the impact we could have on healthcare organizations. Our team identifies significant opportunities that have benefited and will continue to benefit these organizations for years to come. With more than 15 years of experience, I’m extremely proud that we’ve been able to develop an acute reimbursement group that has significantly grown and continues to find new ways to help hospital health systems.

I frequently present at Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) events, state hospital associations, and internal events. I’ve covered a wide range of healthcare reimbursement topics including the cash flow implications of the COVID-19 funding mechanisms. I’m a member of the AICPA, the Michigan Association of CPAs, and the HFMA. I received my B.B.A. from Alma College and my M.S. degree in accountancy from the University of Notre Dame.

I spend most of my free time with my wife and kids. I enjoy larger home projects where I can be creative. I also enjoy spending time in the water swimming, snorkeling, or scuba diving.
