In an effort to simplify financial reporting for employee benefit plans, the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) has issued two new Accounting Standards Updates (ASUs) and provided clarifications on existing guidance. These extensive changes will affect all non-governmental benefit plan financial statements (but do not affect the reporting of benefit plans in the plan sponsor’s financial statements).
