As a vocal and enthusiastic University of Michigan sports fan, people are often surprised when I reveal that I’m an MSU grad. Go Wolverines!

Experience

As the leader of the Northern Michigan manufacturing practice, I assist family business owners in the manufacturing and distribution sector with business evaluations, succession planning, and business transition plans.

I also assist clients with year-end compliance support. Considered a trusted advisor to my clients, I work with closely held private businesses in the commercial industries. I’m inspired by entrepreneurship — I love the stories that business owners share. It’s rewarding when we can put these hard-working individuals on a path to a well-deserved retirement.

My staff know me as someone who’s always thinking strategically about the office, in terms of growing our practices and developing our dedicated people. Our ambitious and passionate young staffers are energizing to work with. They embody the reasons many of us started in this field. I’m proud to be the catalyst that creates partners from our team and grows Plante Moran’s reputation in Traverse City and the surrounding areas.

Outside of the office, my family and I aren’t shy about trekking outside any time of year. I love biking and golfing as much as skiing and snowshoeing. My real joy is anything that involves getting out on the water — there’s no shortage of these opportunities around Traverse City. I’m happy to live and work in such a beautiful place.

I’m a member of the AICPA, the Michigan Association of CPAs, and the Northwest Michigan Industries Association. I have a B.A. in business administration from Michigan State University.
