I assist multigenerational families and their family-owned businesses in achieving their personal and business goals. I believe one of the most important things I can do for my clients is to help families work together in harmony and to use their wealth wisely. With decades of broad experience, my clients appreciate that I work very hard to support them in a variety of areas important to them.
I started working for Plante Moran full time in 1964, so I suppose hanging around this long is an accomplishment. I was managing partner of the firm from 1981–1993 (following Frank Moran), and I helped the firm with its early growth while preserving its wonderful culture. I like to think I played a role in the firm expanding from a single office to several throughout Michigan and Ohio. Since I’ve probably worked here longer than anyone else, my colleagues know me for having considerable knowledge of the firm’s history and philosophies.
I sit on the Thompson Foundation Board of Trustees, the McCoig Holdings Advisory Board, and the Public School Academies of Detroit Board of Trustees. I received my B.S.B.A. from John Carroll University and my M.B.A. from the University of Michigan.
My “retired” life outside of Plante Moran consists of spending time with my family. I enjoy sailing and biking.
