I’m proud to serve as board chair for Marklund, an organization in Chicagoland that works with severe and profound handicapped individuals with the goal of “making everyday life possible.” It’s a privilege to serve an organization who succeeds at making a positive difference.

Experience

I work with healthcare providers, payers, and consulting organizations to help them develop and surpass their strategic, financial, and operational objectives. I have long admired individuals who have dedicated their professional careers to serving the healthcare needs of others, and it’s a privilege to work beside them in that endeavor. Specializing in acute care hospitals, critical access hospitals, and physician practices, clients appreciate my ability to understand their objectives and assemble the appropriate resources and subject-matter expertise to optimize their performance.

In today’s climate of decreasing revenue and pressure to maintain margin, I work with healthcare providers to improve their operating performance while maintaining focus on delivering their mission to the communities that they serve.

Working side by side with clients, I apply my extensive financial and operational experience to my audit and compliance work. I also strive to build positive, productive relationships with all stakeholders ― from boards of directors, executive management teams, and employed and independent physicians; to donors, private equity investors, payers, and policymakers.

Colleagues and clients alike know me as a dynamic leader who energizes teams and has the technical skills to help them best position their organizations for ongoing success in a challenging and increasingly competitive healthcare environment.

I frequently present to industry groups and professional organizations, such as the HFMA Strategic CFO Council, The Central Ohio HFMA Tri-State Organization, Roche Diagnostics Lab Leaders Summit, and the American Association for Clinical Chemistry. Topics have included population health, revenue cycle management, and efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare delivery.

I hold the designation of Chartered Global Management Accountant with the AICPA, and I'm also a member of the Illinois CPA Society, the Chicago Healthcare Executive Forum, the Institute of Internal Auditors, and the Healthcare Financial Management Association, where I am a fellow.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in accountancy from Northern Illinois University and my M.B.A. from the Keller Graduate School of Management in Chicago.
