He’s known for his ability to provide creative and practical advice to clients and is a member of the firm’s professional standards department, which is responsible for the technical review of real estate financial statements.
Some of Michael’s specific experience includes:
- Providing auditing, accounting, and tax services to a variety of multi-entity clients in multi-family, single family, hospitality and commercial real estate development and management.
- Managing real estate investment fund and multi-entity real estate engagements. He is experienced in solving tax issues for partnerships, limited liability corporations, and S corporations.
- Historic and low-income housing tax credits and cost segregation projects.
Michael has more than 20 years of industry experience, including time as an interim CFO for a school district. Most recently, his focus has been on advising real estate clients regarding the new IRS repairs and maintenance regulations. Michael is a frequent presenter to clients and their boards on current events impacting their organizations, including minimizing income taxes, cost containment, and revenue enhancement. He has a B.A. in accounting from Michigan State University.
