I supervise assurance and consulting services for financial institutions, including banks, credit unions, and independent mortgage bankers. Many of the banks I work with have total assets over $1 billion, and I oversee the testing, design, and operating effectiveness of their financial reporting. My expertise covers HUD, GNMA, USAP, and Reg AB compliance requirements.
As the mortgage banking subject matter expert, I develop and lead trainings for staff on internal tools and programs, including compliance requirements. I’m a member of the Internal Audit Advisory Board within the financial standards group.
Growing up as a multiple sports athlete, I’ve always loved being part of a team. Public accounting, especially at Plante Moran, has allowed me to approach client engagements with a similar team mentality where we’re all working together toward an end goal. The camaraderie and technical challenges I encounter each day keep me excited to continue down the path.
I have more than 15 years’ experience, not counting two summer internships. My greatest accomplishments have been being viewed as someone staff feel comfortable coming to with both personal and professional issues; stepping into the mortgage banking leadership role in the financial services team; sharing my voice for the betterment of the group and being a full-time working mom.
I belong to the AICPA, MICPA, Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), and Michigan Mortgage Lenders Association, where I sit on the Women’s Initiative Network Committee. Because of my technical expertise, I’ve spoken at the MBA’s Accounting and Financial Management Conference since 2021. I have a B.A. and M.S. in accounting from Michigan State University.
In my free time, I’m an avid golfer and tennis player. I love the Bahamas and enjoy spending time with my family: my husband, our daughter, and our Goldendoodle, as well as our immediate families. I have a special circle of seven friends I’ve known for over 30 years!
