I was a ballerina for 14 years. In the spring of 2001, I performed at a studio in New York City with my cousin who was practicing there professionally.

Experience

As the director of tax for the Macomb office, I’m responsible for the overall coordination and delivery of tax services. I also provide advice to business leaders on a wide range of tax and business matters.

As a key member of the income tax provision and corporate tax leadership team, I offer guidance to clients and internal staff on the tax implications for financial statements.  Additionally, I keep them informed about tax and audit changes, explaining the potential impacts of these developments.

My clients are primarily in the manufacturing and distribution and service industries with tax compliance, and they are mostly private and public companies with revenues ranging from $12 to $800 million.

I was attracted to a career in public accounting because of the variety and challenges of the work, as well as advancement opportunities and flexibility. With 15 years of experience, my clients appreciate that I’m proactive, responsive, and provide valuable tax advice with their best interests in mind. Around the office, I’m known for being passionate about teaching and contributing to the development of my colleagues.

Prior to joining Plante Moran, I was acknowledged for my participation as part of my prior firm’s National Innovation Team, where I worked closely with the other team members to develop and implement a firmwide billing and standardized business tax return process and workpaper. I also managed the expansion teams for prior firm’s acquisitions. This included working with local office management team members for newly acquired offices to help acclimate them into the firm by assisting with trainings needs, leading training sessions, and helping with various software and process conversions.

I’m a member of the Michigan Women’s Tax Association, the Northwood Network Accounting Alumni Association, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants. I’ve also presented at several internal sessions on tax technical and nontechnical topics.

I received my B.B.A. in accounting from Northwood University. When I’m not helping clients, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Nathan, daughters, Grace and Charlotte, and dog, Charlie. My hobbies include yoga, cooking, boating, and other water sports.
