Professional photo of Marshall Bakker.

During college, I participated in a version of The Amazing Race, which involved skydiving, fast car racing, surfing, and solving riddles and puzzles. I didn’t place so well in the “race,” so I’m glad to have my day job.

Experience

As a leader in our transaction advisory services (TAS) group, I lead buy- and sell-side financial due diligence for strategic and private equity clients. My responsibilities include leading diligence engagements across multiple industries and serving in an advisory role for clients working through a transaction.

The majority of my projects are in the manufacturing and distribution, service, and retail industries. My clients are primarily private equity and strategic acquirers, who appreciate my strong attention to detail and ability to take a step back and identify key risk areas and consideration items.

I have more than 10 years of experience. My greatest accomplishment is realizing the growth of other team members and identifying and implementing new ways to drive insights more efficiently.

I belong to ACG West Michigan. I earned a B.A. in accountancy from Calvin University.

When I’m not at the office, you can find me at the beach on Lake Michigan, camping, or going on bike rides with my wife and four boys.
