My primary focus is to oversee financial statement audits of insurance companies within our financial services group. I also serve as the firm’s defined benefit plan leader, providing technical guidance to our benefit plan audit practice and overseeing benefit plan audits as a benefit plan audit specialist.
I work directly with a variety of types of insurance companies within our financial services group, including health, property, and casualty, as well as captive insurance companies both publicly traded and privately held. Clients appreciate that I’m a strong communicator who provides a high level of service with technical knowledge and experience.
Around the office, I’m known for my energetic personality and love for LaCroix sparkling water. With more than 10 years of experience, I consider winning the Detroit office Diane Wells Leadership Award after being part of the Detroit office for less than two years to be my biggest accomplishment.
I served as president for the Insurance Accounting and Systems Association (IASA) Midwest chapter from 2022 to 2023 and am currently on the board as the immediate past president. I’ve presented at their regional conferences on GAAP accounting updates, as well as taken part in Plante Moran’s Year-End Webinar Series, where I presented on benefit plan hot topics. I earned my B.A. and M.S. in accounting from Michigan State University.
Outside of work, I enjoy running, teaching group fitness classes, reading, attending Michigan State sporting events, and spending time with my fiancé and our goldendoodle, Arnie.
