The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) provides incentives to bring the production of electric vehicles to the United States by giving automakers a credit for each battery they produce. This new legislation also offers incentives for consumers who choose to purchase electric vehicles. But along with these incentives, the IRA brings a number of considerations — from consumer confidence in electric vehicles to the uncertainty around production tax credits — and questions remain for manufacturers and customers alike.
