In college, I changed my major to accounting after I compared my engineering internship with someone’s accounting internship at Plante Moran. When I saw how excited they were, I thought, “That's how I want to feel about where I work.”

Experience

As the Columbus tax director, I work with my clients to manage their tax risks and exposures by providing them the information they need to make effective and realistic business decisions. My clients are typically middle-market private equity-owned organizations, and manufacturing and service companies with both international and multistate issues. I love having a career that allows me to work with many accomplished business owners — and drive their growth and profitability goals.

I’ve been with the firm more than 25 years, and two of my greatest accomplishments are being a founding member of what has become the tax solutions group, and being one of the first — and still current — members of our state and local tax team.

I speak annually at the Ohio Tax Conference. I’ve also spoken at the 2016 MNCPA Tax Conference, the Michigan Tax Conference, and the AICPA Controllers Conference. I belong to the AICPA and the Ohio Society of CPAs. I have a B.A. in accounting from Michigan State University and an M.S. in taxation from Walsh College.

Outside of the office, I enjoy golfing and spending time with my wife and kids.
