Experience

As a member of Plante Moran’s management team, I work with our Illinois and Michigan offices to help guide and connect our leadership throughout the firm. We share best practices and solutions to common issues and help uphold our firmwide approach to client service.

I’ve had many professional experiences that have prepared me for this role, including leading our tax solutions practice at the firm and, most recently, serving as the Rocky Mountain Region office tax director. In fact, I relocated to Denver 5 years ago with my family to serve in this capacity and to help deepen cohesion among our different geographies. That opportunity taught me how to bring people together, balance different regional customs, and to listen — and learn — from a variety of viewpoints.

In addition, I’ve served on multiple firm committees as well as served as a member of the firm’s tax leadership team for 10 plus years. Over the past few years, I’ve enjoyed championing our strategic plan initiatives related to innovative approaches on how we’ll deliver our services to clients in the future. When I look back on my more than 20-year career at the firm, I’m proud of how my team has contributed to the growth of our tax practice and the firm. We’ve done this by attracting diverse and talented staff members who happen to be, in Plante Moran parlance, relatively jerk-free, and then helping them advance in their career and make meaningful contributions as they grow.

What was true two decades ago is still true today: I joined Plante Moran because I was looking for a firm where I could work with great people and make an impact with clients. Having opportunities to put down roots and grow was important to me.

I’m a member of the Michigan Bar Association, and I have a B.A. in international relations and a law degree from Michigan State University, with a focus on taxation.

Between work and vacations, I’ve been lucky to travel to four continents. When I’m home, I enjoy spending time with my wife and three kids, golfing, skiing, and giving my time to charitable groups.
