Keith Szymanski

I provide audit and consulting services to governmental entities such as cities, townships, counties, and special-purpose governments. As the industry technical specialist for our governmental practice, I assist audit teams and our clients as they work through complex matters and prepare for upcoming GASB pronouncements.

I’ve always enjoyed numbers, math, and puzzles. Once I discovered accounting as a potential career, it seemed like the perfect fit. I love the variability that comes with public accounting — working with different people, going to different places, and tackling new challenges.

I’m a member of the Michigan Municipal Treasurers Association and the Ohio Government Finance Officers Association, and I’m often asked to present at training sessions for their members. I’m also a member of the AICPA, Michigan Association of CPA’s, and American Public Transportation Association. I have a M.S. in accounting from the University of Michigan (go Blue!).

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two young sons — often playing in the sandbox or pushing toy trucks around the house.
