As the firm’s international practice leader, I help clients simplify the complexity of doing business internationally. With so many unknowns, I take the time to understand my clients’ business needs from all facets of global expansion. Through my nearly 20 years of on-the-ground experience in numerous markets, I make sure my clients have access to the best resources around the globe.
When my clients have international business questions, they appreciate that I bring practical solutions to help with their global needs. Much of my expertise has come from helping clients expand internationally to over 50 countries, helping foreign companies expand in the United States, and also helping the firm open offices in China, Mexico, India, and Japan. I’ve been very fortunate to help grow our international audit, tax, and consulting teams and also assist our Praxity alliance through chairing Praxity’s global assurance group. In my role, I’m able to manage teams around the globe, see different places, and experience a variety of cultures, and I think that helps me relate to clients.
In 2015, Crain’s Detroit Business recognized me as a “40 Under 40” recipient for helping the firm increase international business revenue by 400 percent. I’m a member of the German American Chamber of Commerce, the Asia Pacific Chamber of Commerce, the Detroit–China Business Association, the United States–Mexico Chamber of Commerce, the Association of Corporate Growth, the AICPA, and the Michigan Association of CPAs. I received a B.S. in accounting with honors from Michigan State University.
I spend many days away from home and eating at restaurants for work. Therefore, when I’m home, I like nothing more than hanging out with my three kids and my wife and eating a PB&J in the kitchen. I also enjoy golf and catching up on my kids’ activities.
