I’ve learned to cultivate a calm personality; I rarely get angry. In life, I believe that stuff happens no matter what, and this is especially true when you have five kids. I’ve learned to just roll with whatever comes next.

Experience

With 27 years of experience, I specialize in serving higher education institutions, including private and public four-year institutions and community colleges. One of my roles is to lead the higher education practice in Ohio and to serve on the firm’s higher education leadership team. I provide practical solutions for my clients’ issues, and I help them comply with industry standards.

Whether it was because of my calm demeanor or my specialized knowledge, Plante Moran offered me the chance, more than 10 years ago, to move to the Toledo office for a two-fold purpose: manage the commercial practice and develop the Ohio higher education practice.

I regularly speak to higher education institutions’ boards on FASB and GASB updates. I’m also a frequent speaker for the Ohio Association of College and University Business Officers. In addition, I attend National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO), Central Association of College and University Business Officers (CACUBO), and Ohio Association of College and University Business Officers (OACUBO) conferences annually. I’m a member of the Ohio Society of CPAs, the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA), and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). I’m on the board of the local American Cancer Society. I hold a B.S.B.A. in accounting from Aquinas College.
