Southfield – Plante Moran, one of the nation’s largest certified public accounting and business advisory firms, has announced that the Health Information Trust Alliance, also known as HITRUST, has designated the firm as a Common Security Framework Assessor –– one of only 35 firms to hold this designation.
The HITRUST CSF was developed to address security, privacy and regulatory challenges facing the healthcare industry. It provides a comprehensive framework of prescriptive security controls to help organizations comply with HIPAA and HITECH requirements.
As a HITRUST CSF Assessor, Plante Moran will be a key component to the HITRUST program, helping to uphold information security and privacy standards for the healthcare industry. The firm will work with healthcare organizations and their service providers to assess compliance with security control requirements and recommend corrective action plans that align with the CSF.
“With a strong practice and more than 50 team members focused on cybersecurity, earning the HITRUST CSF designation was a natural step for Plante Moran,” said Alexis Kennedy, Manager at Plante Moran. “Our broad expertise in internal controls coupled with our experience in the healthcare industry, makes us well suited to help organizations with assessment and remediation services.”
