Lonnie is a partner serving multiemployer benefit plans, construction, manufacturing and services industry clients at Plante Moran.  He specializes in interacting with boards of trustees, closely held company shareholders, and board of directors.  With more than 16 years of experience in public accounting and 10 years of experience working in the construction industry as a painting contractor, this gives him a unique ability in understanding business operations and the construction industry.  Lonnie is able to provide practical value add solutions to industry issues and challenges which makes him a trusted business advisor to clients. 

Lonnie's clients clearly recognize that his primary role is to assist in ensuring that the assets of the participants and shareholders are properly safeguarded and accounted while using his vast years of experience to provide best practices and value-added thoughts and ideas.  He has a broad range of experience dealing with IRS and DOL notices related to benefit plan, corporation and individual tax issues.

Lonnie has been a lead presenter at various association training seminars and training events. He recently has performed training sessions for TPA’s covering topics such as alternative investments.  He has recently earned the designation of Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional from the Institute of Certified Construction Industry Financial Professionals.

He has a B.B.A in accounting from Northwood University, and is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Michigan Association of CPAs, International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, Past President of the Construction Financial Management Association, and Flint Rotarian.
